What is Apple Cider Vinegar?

What is Apple Cider Vinegar?
Apple Cider Vinegar is made by crushing fresh, organically grown apples and allowing them to mature in wooden barrels. When the vinegar is mature, it contains a dark, cloudy, web-like bacterial foam called mother, which becomes visible when the rich brownish liquid is held to the light. It is important when purchasing Apple Cider Vinegar to use as a natural remedy that you ensure that the ACV has "the mother." The mother can be used to add to other vinegar to hasten maturity for making more Apple Cider Vinegar. Natural vinegars that contain the mother have enzymes and minerals that other vinegars in grocery stores may not have due to over-processing, over-heating, and filtration. For this reason, it is recommended that you purchase only Natural Apple Cider Vinegar, with an ideal acidity (pH) level of 5 to 7. Apple Cider Vinegar also contains many vital minerals and nutrients such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, chlorine, sodium, sulfur, copper, iron, silicon and fluorine that are vital for a healthy body.

Remove Stains From Teeth

Use Apple Cider Vinegar to remove stains from your teeth. Simply rub ACV on your teeth directly and then rinse. Just be careful because ACV is extremely acidic and can erode your tooth enamel. Therefore, use ACV to clean stains on your teeth sparingly.

Swollen Hands & Feet

Alleviate swollen hands and feet by massaging them with Apple Cider Vinegar.

Fight Fleas

If your pet has fleas, you can use Apple Cider Vinegar to get rid of them in the following ways: rub Apple Cider Vinegar directly on your pet's skin, add a few drops of ACV to your pet's water, and/or spray a solution of 1 part ACV and 1 part water onto your pets and furniture in order to repel fleas.

All-Purpose Cleaner

A combination of 1/2 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 cup of water can be used as a cleaner and disinfectant. Use the solution to clean microwaves, bathroom tiles, kitchen surfaces, windows, mirrors, and more!

Shiny Hair

Apple Cider Vinegar can be used as a rinse for your hair after shampooing to add healthy body and shine. Use an old shampoo bottle and fill it with 1/2 a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 1 cup of cold water. Pour throughout your hair after shampooing several times a week to increase body and shine.

Dandruff

Apple Cider Vinegar can be used as a home remedy for dandruff. ACV is effective at treating dandruff by restoring the pH balance of the scalp and discourage the overgrowth of malassezia furfur, the yeast-like fungus thought to trigger dandruff. In order to use ACV to treat dandruff, mix 1/4 cup ACV with 1/4 cup water and pour the solution into a spray bottle. Spritz the solution on the hair and scalp--be careful to avoid the eye and ear area. Wrap a towel around your head and let your hair sit for 15 minutes to 1 hour. Thereafter, rinse the vinegar from your hair. This should be done once or twice per week.

Aftershave

Use Apple Cider Vinegar as an aftershave by filling a bottle with equal parts ACV and water. Simply shake the bottle to blend and use as you would a regular aftershave.
